Traditionally, a cleric (such as a minister, priest, pastor, rabbi, purohit, or imam), or a lay representative of a religious tradition, attached to a secular institution, such as a hospital, prison, military unit, intelligence agency, embassy, school, labor union, business, police department, fire department, university, sports club, or a private chapel.

Our Mission as Chaplains
Our first responders care for our communities 24/7, but they need care too
First we support our first responders and their families
Second we support the citizens our first responders are serving
Finally, as chaplains we support each other as we fulfill our mission
Our goal is always to make the first responder’s job easier when and where we can
Our Chaplain Group
Serves multiple first responder agencies within Douglas County
Values first responders and what they do for our community
Meets monthly for continuing education and mutual encouragement
Is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization

FRCA Helps Celebrate National Police Week
In 2023 Chaplains…
Were on call 24 hours per day, seven days per week to respond to the needs of first responders
Held 78 training and public education activities
Made 130 comfort calls for first responders, families, and impacted citizens
Responded to 21 death scenes and provided 5 death notifications
Performed 10 post-incident defusing/debriefings
Made 234 agency visits to build and maintain trust with our partner agencies by delivering snacks and visiting with first responders
Made 30 official visits for award ceremonies, graduations, retirements, etc.
Received a donation from local philanthropist Harry Herington to facilitate the purchase of a 2013 Tahoe as a FRCA Chaplain Response Vehicle.
